Design

1. What is the required linescreen for the Z-CARD®s design?
For the outer cards, we require a minimum linescreen of 150 lpi (or 300 dpi). For the inner sheets, we require a minimum linescreen of 133 lpi (or 266 dpi).

2. What is a copy safety zone?
A copy safety zone is the immediate area (generally 1/8") inside the trim line. It is there to ensure that nothing gets cut-off due to variables in the manufacturing process.

3. Can I change the size of my templates?
We ask that you not change the size of any template provided to you. These are standard sizes. If you would like a different size than what you currently have, please talk to your sales representative about getting a custom made template.

4. How do you want the files?
We can print from Adobe, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop as well as Quark files. Please provide all images (high resolution and cmyk), fonts (printer and screen) along with your template file. In addition, a printout or an email confirming the outer card position is required. We ask that you also label your disk with your name and address on it for easy return. Or post to the Z-CARD® FTP site. (Please contact usfor FTP address)

5. Where do I send the files for print?
Your sales representative should provide you with an address or FTP site address for electronic posting. If you are unsure of who your sales representative is, please call us at 212.797.3450 ext.300 and someone will connect you with your sales representative.

6. Do I need to bleed my artwork?
Yes, anytime you have a color or image in the background you should bleed your artwork at least 1/8" outside of the trim line.

7. Can I use extra PMS colors?
Yes. Please contact usfor a price quote on including PMS colors with your Z-CARD®s.

8. I see there is space for me to design my outer cards on the template for the inner sheet, why can't I design it all on one template?
Be sure to design your outer cards on the outer card template and your inner sheet on the Inner sheet template. These are printed on two separate paper stocks which require completely separate plates when printing.
